Self-evangelism is simply this… Everything I do is to benefit me. I’m winning me to get more of Jesus. I used the illustration that it’s like the saltshaker. You keep putting salt in the same shaker and you never shake it out. All you’re doing is putting salt on the same salt and the salt never is effective because it was never meant to stay in the shaker. It was meant to come out and touch the meat and make it flavorful. If you don’t get the salt out of your shaker and you’re not bringing anybody into the Kingdom, you’re just having church for yourself. It’s called self-evangelism. I’m going to go to church and I’m going to win me and I’m going to win me and I’m going to get more for me.

Jesus said that he came to do some things. He came to disrupt the kingdom of Satan. He came to destroy the works of the devil. Jesus said that’s what he came to do. He came to set captives free. He came to save us. We constantly apologize for Christians who never bring a soul into the kingdom. We say, “It’s their personality. They’re shy.” If you get anointed, you don’t even know you’re shy. If God can make a jackass prophesy, he can anoint… That donkey not only had to talk, he had to speak Hebrew! Matthew 5 says that we are the salt of the earth.

We’ve spoken on Thursday nights for the past few weeks on the cost of the anointing. The greater the anointing, the greater the battle. Psalm 132:13-18, “I have ordained a lamp for my anointed. His enemies will I clothe with shame.” God said, “I’m going to anoint you but I’m also letting you know that you’re going to have enemies.” Some of you don’t want any enemies. You want everybody to like you. You want to be Miss Congeniality or Mr. Popularity. I’ve got to tell you something. Satan doesn’t like you, except for when you don’t do anything. Then he likes you. I don’t mean doing something like busy. I’m talking about that you don’t share Him.
